New friends and black eyes

No, the new friend did not cause the black eye.

First, new friends. Haylee came home and told me all about a girl in her class she played with at lunch. Her name is Alex. Haylee's comment "Her name is Alex, just like my cousin. That's funny cause he's a boy. Did you know Alex can be a girl OR boys name?"

Second black eyes. Ian decided to climb Haylee's dresser and knock it over on himself this afternoon. Now his eye is all scratched up and bleeding (luckily not too bad, just red from blood, not actually dripping) and swollen, it just looks like it hurts. Anytime you get near it he cries. Poor kid. I'm going to screw the dresser into the wall tomorrow.
